Randomness

Sigh... it's been a long couple of weeks.  It all started the day before Labor Day weekend when BJ had his "we're done having kids" procedure.  It went well... or so we thought.  He had an uncommon complication which led to a lot of down time for him and a lot of mommy only time for our kiddos.  Then Jackson was so kind to give Audri and I his nasty cold last weekend.  We are still trying to recover, especially baby girl.  Poor thing does not know what to think of the stuffy/snotty nose and let me tell you, it has totally thrown her whole schedule for a loop.  Add in horrible wildfire smoke on top of it and we have a lot of hacking going on at our house.  So... we're getting by day by day.

Here is a picture dump from the last couple weeks:

Labor Day weekend, I took the kids up to Chelan to visit G&G Terry and Aunt Stacey and Randy.  I just love the view from my parents house.

He loves his sister (most of the time). :)

The Wenatchee Fire Complex has made for quite the show from our house.  There were a couple of nights where BJ and I would watch the flames in awe.

Although the fire is cool to watch, the smell of smoke is getting exhausting.  I hate the constant smell and I especially hate thinking of my kiddos lungs getting polluted with this nasty crap. This is a picture from a window at work last Friday.  Yuck!

Unfortunately, the air inside of work is not much better than outside. I actually wore this mask for a while at work today until I realized it was too hard to eat or drink with it on.  For those of you who know me, I can't go more than a couple of hours without eating or drinking. :)

Because of all the smoke, we decided to get out of town last Saturday morning.  Since we were missing the end of the year camping trip due to illness, we decided going up for the day would be ok.

A picture from the way up... we are starting to see blue skies again!

The boys got to play ball and sister and I hung out.

Apparently all the fresh air wore him out. It was so nice to take a deep breath!

Hopefully we will get a reprieve from the smoke soon.  All of our lungs could really use it.

Sideways Sleeper

Sister's favorite way to catnap :)

Park Date

One evening last week, Jacks and I met up with some other Moms and kiddos at a local school playground.  He's been having some jealously issues lately with baby sister so I thought it would be fun to just take him for some one-on-one time.  He had a great time playing on the playground and was even cooperative with pictures (doesn't happen very often lately).  So hard to believe he is almost four... my baby is turning into a grown up little boy.

Little Hawks

In honor of the Hawks playing tonight, I thought I'd post a pic I took the day of their first preseason game.  The kiddos in their Hawks gear (thanks Nana & Papa for the goods). :)

I seriously took 50 pictures trying to get one of both of them looking at me.  This is the best I got... for some reason, Jackson doesn't like to look at the camera.

Beauty

I feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful valley.  I have to say I didn't really appreciate living in Eastern Washington until I moved to Seattle to attend college.  Now there is not a day that goes by that I don't notice how beautiful the Wenatchee Valley is.  There are times that I want to pull my car over while driving just to take a picture of the beauty I see out my windshield (and if I didn't always have the kids with me, I probably would).

Sunday morning, I set my alarm for 4:45am and drug myself out of bed for a sunrise hike up Saddlerock.  I'm pretty sure BJ thought I was crazy (and maybe I was just a little) but the early wake up was well worth the beauty we saw.  I met up with Mary (MKC Photography Mary) and we took our cameras up the mountain (of course, her pics were far and above better than mine). :)  But, I'm so thankful I did as I now have actual pictures of our beautiful valley and not just iPhone pics.  And... I think it made a little more sense to BJ why I wanted to wake up at the crack of dawn once he saw the pics.

An added bonus... we saw this rainbow on our way down.  Although we did get rained on a little - good thing we had worn extra clothing to hide our cameras.

Four Months

Baby girl... seriously, how am I writing about how you are four months old (and a week late at that)!  You are getting so big so fast and doing a whole new array of things.  This last month has brought some changes as I headed back to work and you started daycare at Deanne's.  I am so happy to say you are thriving with our new routine which is so great for this tired Mama.  From the moment you are picked up until bed time, you are happy go lucky just hanging out while we cram in our nightly routine of dinner, baths, etc.  I am so thankful for your sweet little personality.

You are talking more and more and your new favorite thing... making noises with your lips (you think you're pretty funny as spit is flying everywhere).  Trying to stretch your feet all the way to your mouth is your latest challenge as you so badly want to get them in your mouth. You'd rather stand then sit and this makes me wonder if you'll want to crawl or just skip that step and go straight to walking.  You are still a rock star sleeper and lately when you take your smaller cat naps, you want to be laying on your side.  Spitting up has been more of an issue lately but when I asked the pediatrician about it at your appointment, he said as long as it doesn't bother you it's fine.  So we're keeping your reflux medicine as is.  I love hearing you laugh (and I love that you are laughing more and more).  Last weekend, your Dad was playing peek-a-boo with you and you were belly laughing.  I could have watched the two of you forever.  There is not a better sound.

Your stats at four months:

Height: 25.5 inches - 87%

Weight: 14lbs, 2oz - 48%

Head: 17 in - 97%

Another Year

Our four legged friend turned another year older this past week.  And as usual, we forgot on the actual day but made up for it with lots of pup cups this weekend!
