Breakout Birthday Party

Saturday was a busy day and I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to pack it all in.  We somehow managed and one of the two main activities was a big success!  The first activity was taking Jackson to Touch-a-Truck at the Town Toyota Center.  You'd think it would be every little boys dream... lots and lots of cool trucks to see and touch.  Well, not our child.  He was WAY overwhelmed and did not like it at all.  So we donated $12, stayed 5 minutes and then proceeded to go to Lowe's to make the trip down there worth while. :)

The second activity was a birthday party for Jackson's buddy, Jackson Dodd.  We were a little late due to Audri's feeding schedule but I am so happy we made it work.  Jackson had SO MUCH fun and for the first time, didn't cry when the birthday boy/girl opened presents.  He also jumped in the jumpy castle for the first time (which is a big deal because prior to then, he was terrified of them).  I left feeling so proud of him and how he handled everything.  And since baby sister stayed with Daddy, I felt like it was some quality time with my big man.

And Then There Were Four...

On April 12th, our family became complete.  Audri Jayne entered this world at 7:41pm, weighing in at 7lbs, 5oz and measuring 20.5 inches long.  Her birth was an amazing experience and one I'm going to leave to a post all to itself (that hopefully, I'll get to later).  Right now, I'm just trying to get caught up with all my pictures and at least get some of them posted before too much time has gone by.  She has truly been an easy addition to our family and I can now say that bringing home the second baby is way easier than the first.  We are adjusting to two kids and watching the bond form between Jackson and his baby sister is amazing.  He loves her so much already - we really feel so blessed.

Here are some pics from the hospital and home...

Easter 2012

Well I was hoping I would be spending this Easter in the hospital but now that it is over and I look at my pictures for the day, I am thankful I was able to spend the day with family.  We crammed a lot into one day and Jackson had a blast.  We started off the day with Jackson's Easter basket, had bunny pancakes for breakfast, played with our Easter toys, colored eggs (better late than never, right?), went for a walk, ate lunch, took a nap and then headed down to BJ's parents for an Easter BBQ/egg hunt.  It was a lot for one day but it was a lot of fun and Jackson is now cozy in his bed sleeping away. :)  Now, feel free to come baby girl... this mama is tired of being pregnant!
